Hundreds of ‘pink slime’ local news outlets are distributing algorithmic stories and conservative talking points

I’ve always been of the opinion that journalism was killed by three things: (1) 24 hour TV News cycle, leaving little time for critical thought or analysis; (b) Craigslist, which opened the airlock on newspaper revenues streams and corporate ownership and manipulation in the news (looking at you, Sinclair) and (c) the “no one knows your a dig” effect, or the ability for lies and propaganda to be portrayed as actual fact and thereby dilute the potency of reality and truth. (a) and (b) paved the way and welcomed (c). This article is about (c).
