BBC: VR adoption falters despite hype

Medium takedown of VR in general. On the money quote form Slashdot:

“VR and 3D suffer the same fate. It caters to a subset of a subset of the market. yeah, it is totally awesome and cool… IN THEORY. But there is no experience for the casual people, or the onlookers, the spectators, etc. “experiences” that take up 100% of people’s attention just wont work in today’s environment. We swap between watching TV, checking messages on our phones, getting up to go do things, and what not. We are multi-tasking people in society, but 3D and Vr demand 100% attention, therefor they just don’t co-exist with the overwhelming vast majority of people’s lives.”
